Anchor & Micropile Rigs

Anchor and micropile rigs are compact drilling machines built for small-diameter work: micropiles, ground anchors, soil nails and jet grouting. They are designed to reach places a full-size foundation rig cannot — inside buildings, on slopes, in basements and alongside railways.

Low headroom, narrow tracks and a mast that folds or tilts through a wide range often matter as much as raw drilling capability. Rotary head torque and the drilling methods the rig supports are the next things to check.

Frequently asked questions

What is a micropile rig used for?

Drilling small-diameter piles and anchors, typically for underpinning, slope stabilisation, soil nailing and foundations in restricted access. The compact size is the point: they work where a large rotary rig cannot be set up.

What does low headroom mean in practice?

That the rig can drill beneath a ceiling or structure, using a short mast with drill rods added in sections. Manufacturers quote a minimum working height, so check it against your actual site clearance before committing.
